This is my 2nd month TTC. We used an OPk this month and had sex at all the right times. Or I guess maybe we didn't. I was due to get my period on Nov. 13th and it came today (4 days early.) I have a normal 28 day cycle sometimes 29. So why did my period come 4 days early? Is it normal? I'm just really upset right now because I thought this was the month. I just don't understand because everyone I know had sex once, they weren't even trying and got pregnant. Why does it always happen that way?

You have only been ttc for 2 months...it's not a big deal I can assure you. It's also not a big deal that you got your period 4 days early either...my period came 2 weeks early my last cycle. Sometimes things just happen...cycles can get messed up very easily, but most of the time they return to normal. If you haven't conceived in a year, then you should go see your doctor or if you're over 35 and don't conceive within 6 months, go see your doctor. I can take a completely healthy couple up to a year to get pregnant. Don't worry about it. The more you stress, the more you'll lessen your chances of conceiving. Good Luck!

When sex is timed perfectly, you have a 25% chance of getting pregnant each month, if you're under 25. It goes down after that.

People who accidently get pregnant when they weren't trying, probably were engaging in this behavior for a long time, so eventually it was going to happen. I know it's still frustrating to hear though when you're trying to conceive.

Count how many days after you ovulated your period came, that is your luteal phase length. It doesn't matter how long your cycles are usually, your luteal phase stays the same, so you will now always know when your period is due. I had a 13 day luteal phase, so I always knew 13 days after I ovulated, I would get a period. When day 14 came in July, even though I was only on day 26 which is short for me, I knew I was pregnant, and I was.

There is only a 25% chance in each cycle that you will become pregnant and that's if everything was perfect. It only seems that everyone had sex once and got pregnant. Many many people try for a long time before getting pregnant. It is considered normal for a healthy couple under 30 to take one year to become pregnant.

It is so hard to wait when you decide you want to get pregnant. Sometimes I guess it just isn't meant to happen yet. Maybe next month is your month. Good luck and lots of baby dust.
