I don't think it would look weird either, since my legs are kind of short. Do you have any advice or know someone that did it? I have to take a year off, right?

A year, yes. My son just had this surgery the middle of September. He is 11 and we're correcting a four inch length discrepancy.

Have you seen pictures of this? He has nine pins going through his lower leg - both the femur and tibia were broken - jaggedly - The spatial frame on his leg is connected to the nine pins - there are six struts that have to be turned daily. The first three weeks after the surgery were HELL. Let me tell ya.

He is now up and walking with his walker. There is a three centimeter gap in the bones (goal is six centimeters) we'll be done with the *turning* part right before Christmas, but the spatial frame won't come off until after the New Year.

From there...its the long tedious process of waiting while those bones finish regenerating themselves and everything heals up.

He is so excited about not having to wear a lift on the bottom of his shoe anymore once this is all done.

I reccomend going to www.spatialframe.com...from there, you can go to the website that has lots of pictures and stories about other peope that have had this done and it also talks about the doctor that *invented* this procedure in the 1950s in Russia, I believe it was..

Good luck...its a VERY intense thing....

Seems have a big submit a person's life. The outward form of a person is perfect in the eyes of the entire world when every feature is put together in flawlessness or very nearly there. Of them all, height represents a substantial role.
Height isn't just lots is one of many critical criteria in plenty of fields: sports, being a part of the defense force, wooing some one, getting a work or simply bolstering one's confidence therefore, if you wish to be a little bit taller you only have to make use of this plan https://tr.im/T1v0p , grow taller 4 Idiots.
The mixture of amino acids with development hormones, would certainly lead to a taller stature and this really is what you should study from this guide, the way to put that mix used because this system actually benefit many people.

Check out the wiki link on average height. In some parts of the world you are tall. Move to Japan or the Philipines you'll feel really tall there.

First-at 5'9" you are not short, in fact you are smack-dab in the middle of average.
Second-your natural bone is damaged in this kind of surgery, and you would probably feel pain in your legs for the rest of your life.
Third-this type of surgery is radical, and should only be done in extreme instances such as dwarfism.
Last-any Doctor that wold agree to preform this surgery on a a normal size person is a quack and shouldn't be allowed to practice medicine.

Do you have limb deformities? Are you male or female? What is your age? If you're male and under 18, there's still a chance for you to grow a little more. I would think you would have to go through some psychological counseling before a doctor would consider that kind of surgery. I'm sure there are some other alternatives to this procedure. It is risky, painful, expensive, and you would have to be dependent on someone else for quite awhile. Please consider this option very carefully.

limb lengthening is not an elective procedure. it should only be used when medically necessary. you are already 5'9"... is another quarter inch really that important?

limb lengthening is a hard surgery. it's very painful, and takes a very long time for the bones to heal (if they ever heal properly) you will have nasty scars, not only from the external screws, but from the rods they have to put all the way from your ankle to your knee. is it really worth it?

No. If a woman does not date me because of the fact of my peak she isn't nicely worth my time. 5'7 isn't that short. it may be diverse in case you have been like 5'3 or some thing yet whilst is you're 3 inches taller then the common woman.

Limb lengthening is very painful and hard surgery and with the scars and pain you might wish you never went through with it. Talk about it with your friends and family and see what they say about it.

Please be happy with a 5 foot 9 inch body!!! You are unique and special by God and making your legs longer will not make you more appealing to you, or another woman, I can promise you! And furthermore, 5 ft 9 in. is not short! Many women do not like very tall men. Please seek counseling before you do this.

There is such a thing, but I heard it's awful. It's extremely painful, and it may take more than a year to fully recover. You're alreadt tall as it is, so CAREFULLY think this through. Do you want to be in giant casts, bedridden and in pain, for a year or more?
