the floor of the front passenger side was real wet. THe mat on top was not. I took it in and no one can figure out where the water is coming from. I have a friend who has a GMC van that had the same problem and no one could figure out where it was coming from. I noticed it after I had the heater on the first few days it got cold, however the service people said that it was not the ac/heater lines. Anyone else had this problem and found a solution to it.

look at the heater core. Often times when they leak, thats where they leak and the fact that you dont have heat is also an indicator.

I would bet the mechanic's are wrong. It sounds like either you have a leak in the heat core or a leak in the heater hoses. Might be a simple as a lose hose.

Your dealer or a good garage should be able to do a pressure leak test on the cooling system. Sears can do it for you too. If there is a pressure leak than there is a problem with the system.

You never said if the coolant was needing filling a lot. That is a sign that you are having a coolant leak. Other than that if the floor is getting wet after a rain then it is most likely the windshield or door seals. With out more information that is the best I can come up with for you.

I hope this helps you out...

As others have said, you either have a plugged AC drain line, or a leaking heater core.

I would find another mechanic or go to another shop, if they couldn't find the problem.

Are you losing any coolant at all? That would be a good indication that the heater core is leaking. If you aren't losing any coolant, then the condensate line from the AC may be plugged and spilling into the interior. The AC will come on when you turn on the defroster to help get rid of the humidity before it hits the windshield.

good luck.

If it have been a leaking heater middle, you may observe a loss of coolant. examine it. If low, then your heater middle is in all probability leaking. Leaking coolant has a diverse smell than undeniable water. Leaks around the windshield or door seal or door window seal. i'm out of guesses. The fix? discover the leak first. Then the two silicone seal, replace gasket or replace heater middle.
