What biological purpose does humor serve? Do only humans understand humor?

Philosophically,
They say that laughter is the best medicine.
Biologically,
it's just endorphin hormones rushing to your brain,& giving
you a pleasurable feeling.
this calms some of ur brain's stress,caused by adrenalin or
by muscular stress and lightens u up.
Psycologically(&scientifically),
this has only been found in humans,to be in perfect form.
but further studies are also being made to find such activities in other oraganisms.
(P.S : I'm no geek! I just read this in some article posted on the net !)

When you smile, laugh etc, you get a rush of endorphins sent to your brain and body. These endorphins make you feel good. So the more humor you feel, the better.

That is where humor really affects life.

It can be a way to get across a point that if stated with no humor would not be accepted.
