No. Not only is this day to honor veterans today, but to also honor those that have passed. There are many loved ones of these fallen and current vets that want to honor their veterans with a day in which to reflect.

Since one in four veterans are homeless, and a third more
live at or below the poverty line, it is most likely the veteran
wants the work to meet a few bills...I doubt very seriously that a veteran wants off work..should he/she be lucky enough to
have a job anyway....besides, being a veteran doesn't hold
clout...most people look at the Veterans Administration as
if it were a welfare department and the DAV as no more
than a bunch of 'too old' kids playing soldier games!!

No, it's a day to honor them...I do hope they have family and friends around them on that day to give them the honor they have earned...
