I agree, Simon was great but my favorite then and he still is, 57 years later...is my newborn baby doll, he sucks his thumb and has a soft vinyl head, legs and arms and a cloth body...his name is Davie and there are human babies who have been named for him because I used to haul him around by one foot, everywhere I went...now he sits quietly and somewhat sadly on top of my book case. He was the first newborn baby doll to come out.

Other than board games and my first real baseball glove which came a bit later, the only toy that I remember (from more than 50 years ago) is a set of wooden blocks. So I'll go with that.

We had this huge Bozo the Clown inflatable toy. It was 5' tall for pete's sake. You'd give it a punch and it would come right back up - still smiling. Rather morbid actually. We still have pictures of my brother and I beating that thing up!! Hilarious!
