YES, and you know that or you wouldn't be asking. A 24 year old man who is supposed to be out in the real world on his own, making a living, and following his own life plan should be dating young women that are in or around the same age and at the same place in their lives. No matter how mature a girl appears at 17 there is still much that she needs to experience and do before she is ready for a relationship with a grown man.

If you were 39 and she were32 then everybody would say no. Your problem is not the age gap itself but your age. It's a difficult one if you were my son I would say take it very carefully and not rush anything. On the other hand if it was my daughter I would tell her to get rid of this guy immediately. I know this is not fair but it's the way of the world. I personally would take a step back if I were you, and maybe after another year or so if the feelings are still there then resume the relationship.

Are you to old for her legally? Or do ya mean emotionally?
Alot of people on here are going to tell you that you'll go to jail if you have sex with anyone under 18. This is not always the case.
Can be risky and i hope your talking about someone you really care for. Emotionally i dont believe you are to old. Especially since women in general are already more advanced as far as maturity goes at that age.

In 2 or 3 years time it will be ok but as it stands, 17 is too young i think.

Yes. Even though she sounds mature she is still a developing young lady. If a few years down the road she is still available maybe not but now look for something within your own age group or older (19-24 or up)

Yes, but seven years age difference is no big deal when she's thirty and you're thirty-seven. At this point, she is still in high school, you all shouldn't have much in common. It is easy to impress and persuade a girl so young, I understand why you would be tempted, but please don't let her get too carried away. Think about how much YOU'VE changed and grown up since you were 17.

wait another year....that magical number 18 rings SO nicely when it's said....in fact, it doesn't matter if you BOTH consent, most times parents can still file charges...even down the road once it's found out......
wait til she's 18...she'll still be there if she's worth waiting for...not only THAT, but did you know that in some states, as the one i live in, you having any kind of sexual contact with her can give you a life sentence of "pedifile" or ..well, actually you'd be charged with a sexual offense and have to regester as a sexual offender/preditor for the rest of your life....SOOO not worth it..... what kind of life could you have??
but maturity wise, you guys are probably on the same level, which is cool!!

it depends on the people. my friends is 17 an she dates older guys - not really old, but around 20s - and she is with someone at the mo who is 24 an they get on really well. if she is mature enough for u, and u really like each other, then there isnt much of a prob.

Yes, You should know in your heart and have enough common sense to know a 24 year old should not be dating a high school girl. I think you can get in trouble with the law in most places.

Its not considered RAPE? what a stupid answer! It is only considered rape if he has sex with her without her approval. I live in England I was 15 when i met my now husband, he was 20. It sounds wrong but i'm 20 now and we're happily married with a 2 year old son. Nothing wrong with it!!
