Did a firmware through linksys.com. I can't connect the router now. Did call linksys for teck support and manage to work, they also said that if I want to change my passward, I can go through the cd setup and should be fine. I went through the cd setup and router didn't work again! Don't want to call teck support again. Is it possable that the router is currupted and need a new router?

I thought I needed the firmware. Did try resetting the router. I still can't get connected to the router.

a side note - the official firmware release from Linksys is quite limited in its capability/functions.

Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WRT54G for a background info on the open-source firmware available.

I've used the open-sourced firmware, and it works much better than the official firmware. Does not hang/jam (the memory buffer) when there're heavy downloads.

reset your router

look for a very small hole or button push and hold down for about 10 seconds

now try and connect

are you sure youi needed the firmware update ?

to change your username and password
log on to the router by inputting the IP address into your browser address bar.
