It really depends for me. Sometimes being smart and the hard work that often comes with it leaves you with no cares or time for friends, other times people call you names and social rejection becomes a problem, as dumb as that is. Sometimes there's no-one you can relate to. It varies, but with the evil people there are nowadays, there very well can be.

When you are highly intelligent you think about things that others don't-like the algorithms of the universe,quantum physics etc.But since you are smarter the most people no one will actually understand you thus leaving your thoughts for yourself and that is called loneliness.
