Don't let salesmen and strangers use your bathroom, they can pretend they are in the loo and then case your house stealing things. It OK I suppose if you have a first floor bathroom that you can keep an eye on all the time they are in the house, but you might just tell them no, you have to sterilize it since the baby or grandchild, was sick last night.
Make sure you have someone within shouting distance too when people come to look at your things, theft is very common when you invite strangers into your home.

It could be that, as previously mentioned, that people are arriving after a long trip. Also, there are some women who just like to check themselves out in the mirror or primp, which I still find to be innapropriate in another person's home. Maybe it just seems this way to you since most of the people you know may live closer to you.
Also, some people are just bathroom-curious. I know this sounds strange, but some people love to see what someone else's bathroom looks like. Some may even like to "explore" it. So, just be careful. Hope I didn't freak you out.

It's probably because you leave those fragrantly aromatic panties just laying around in there. It attracts them for sampling.
They may also be checking to see if you are using preperation H or monostat 7.

Probably because it takes time to reach their destinations and when they do arrive at people's houses, they relieve themselves.
