It doesn't matter about how you look. Your friends aren't really your friends because of how you look. You live. You eat. You sleep. You are a person. Just because someone looks different then another doesn't mean he/she shouldn't be happy. Of course I would rather be ugly and happy. My life would be much better.

well depends how sad. if I could cheer up I would go for beautiful/sad cause its easier to change sad than ugly.
