My last name is Hammer, no joke, dead serious, just like the tool. Most baby names that I have really liked don't fit with my last name! On top of this my DH is being retarted claiming that he doesn't like any names at all and just wants to name the baby after him if it's a boy and me if it's a girl. I guess I could live with a Jr. boy, but I am NOT giving my daughter my name! HELP!

Nothing wrong with Hammer. Just be glad it's not Ramsbottom! Okay...2 suggestions:
1. Choose a name which has 1, 3, or 4 syllables, because if the first and last names have the same amount of syllables, it doesn't sound so good.
2. Don't choose a name which starts with H.

I went to school with sisters whose last name was Hammer. The one was named Kari and I cant remember the other. But honestly I think almost any name would go fine with Hammer. Try pairing a first name with mine, Powers....LOL I think you have it easier. Best of Luck to you.
