I am Black. I need folks to understand that "Kwanzaa" is something made up by an ex-con as part of his scheme to have something to talk about on tour. It is NOT a real holiday. Why are black folk getting hoodwinked into embracing this? And why does Hallmark make "Happy Kwanzaa" cards??

I am white, I have been to a few Kwanzaa celebrations (2 in-home, 1 at reception site) and it seemed real enough to me.
Food and fellowship are the real hallmarks of a holiday, and they are tangible in some Kwanzaa celebrations.
There are many holidays I don't celebrate (Teacher's Day, Rosh Hosannah, Ramadan among them) but this doesn't mean they don't exist.
In my world view, a holiday exists when I see it celebrated.

Almost all holidays were made up by someone in the past. I don't see anything unique here. Celebrate it or not is a personal decision since this is not a federal holiday.

To me, any day that give people joy and hurt no one else is a good thing to have. Turning just about everything into money making opportunity is an American thing.

Kwanzaa has been adopted as a celebration of the African American Family.

There is a such thing because people have made it so. Holidays only have as much significance as you give them. Allow others their celebration.

I respect your opinion but...

...look at the positives of Kwanzaa. I don't actively celebrate it, but I do appreciate its principles, and that it doesn't involve commercialism. I'm for anything that builds more than it destroys.

I don't understand it either, and realize it's a made-up holiday, and a very overdone one at that.
