I currently have a sales job offer and the mileage reimbursement is only $0.28. That seems VERY low to me. I was curious what other people are getting.

The current IRS mileage reimbursement (2007) is 0.48.5 per mile. Many empoyers follow this guidline but some don't. If your are getting $0.28 then you can deduct 0.20.5 per mile from your tax return. Good luck.

feels like they are scamming you out of your commissions. Tax fraud? possibly, possibly no. First, which ability they don't seem to be paying your mileage, you're. it is popping out of your commissions no longer from them! top? And in case you paid your guy or woman mileage devoid of any compensation then (in case you itemize deductions on your taxes) you're able to desire to write off (no longer pay taxes on) those mileage expenses. yet while they are claiming they are reimbursing you, then you definately won't be able to write that mileage rate off. So in the event that they are claiming to pay mileage for you (so which you won't be able to write it off your taxes) yet doing it including your cost, you're being double tapped devoid of lube. And their answer that it lowers your taxes is almost like saying "i understand we reported we would pay you 50K a year, yet by making use of paying you in basic terms 20K a year we are saving you from having to pay taxes on that different 30K." remember, whether you're interior the utmost tax bracket, each and every dollar they permit you realize they have saved you in taxes on your cost propose they taken away 2 money and 80ish cents of your cost! Wow, what acquaintances! Are they committing tax fraud - possibly, possibly no longer, yet it is their situation with the IRS no longer yours. Your situation isn't any count number if or no longer they are committing fraud on YOU. it is that if your contract with them states they pay for mileage reimbursements yet they are paying it to you out of your commissions, they breaching their contract with you. sounds love it is beneficial to have a criminal expert take a sprint looksy at your contract. possibly!
