It's a great movie by Monty Python.
Seriously, though, it's something that we have to find out for ourselves. My personal belief (what makes the most sense to me) is that we are here to grow spiritually.
I have gone through some interesting experiences to support my beliefs. Others will have different life beliefs. Atheists might say that our existence here is an accident, with no plan or purpose, really. Biologically, to procreate and die. Maybe enjoy what little there is left of this trip, and then it's back to non-existence.
My theory is that we all originate in a very cool place that we can call "Heaven" (the real name is unpronounceable).
When we act up in Heaven, we have to go to Hell for awhile to work on our sins. What we call this life here on earth is the REAL Hell. When people wonder why God would let all of this suffering happen, it makes sense if you think that we are in Hell.

The meaning of life is to Love. Simple isn't it?
Now try living it!! It is a very difficult thing to do when your enemies are pounding on your door.
We are to love God first and foremost and then our neighbours as we ourselves would want to be loved. Even the evil ones pounding on your doors. That's not easy is it?
But in love there is no hatred, no fear, no evil. Think on it, if we all knew that and lived it how bad would this tired old world be?

The meaning of life is to fulfill our full potential for developing, experiencing and providing love, joy, peace, kindness and wisdom as our contribution to the human experience. We do this in imitation of those same gifts freely given to us by God. Through the practice of these virtues we expand our knowledge of our shared consciousness with God. This shared consciousness survives and forms the basis of our life after this life

The meaning of life is different for every single person on this world. But remember this "it is what you make out of it".

There is no meaning of life. Every individual defines there own life. We just live and reproduce just like any other living animal.
