I chose to write a report about outer space because it absolutely enthralls me- the entire idea of cosmology, astrophysics, quantum theories- and I am awed by images of Nebula's, Auroras, Meteors, Comets, Black Holes, Coronas, The Planets, Supernovas, Dwarfs...and ETC.
My problem, is all of it is so fascinating to me, and there's a broad range to choose from, so i'm a bit stuck. I have to open with a statement that encompasses one larger argument. It could be anything though, so does anybody have some good suggestions for a more specific idea I could strive for? It has to be an idea from which I could form some sort question, and my paper would be what I learned to figure out the correct/most accurate answer to it.
I'm aware it will definitely take some time and effort, though, i'd prefer it be something that's not too difficult to understand, and that I could find a fair amount of information on.

Thanks a bunch...!!!

How about the expanding universe?

Hubble's Law shows that galaxies are moving away fro each other and the velocity is proportional to the distance.

A galaxy 1000 light years away moves away at 15000 km/s. One at 4000 light years away moves away at 60000 km/s.
Relativity fixes a limit to any speed at speed of light. By extrapolation of Hubble's Law a galaxy 20000 light years away should be pelting away at speed of light.
It is another matter that it may not be seen at all as the red shift may shift frequency to near zero.
What happens if the galaxy is farther away than 20000 light years? Hubble's Law requires modification?

Perhaps these aspects of an expanding universe can be looked at.

Well, my theory is that everything is created from space dust, including us. So, maybe this will give you some ideas.

all the previous responses are too vague. try supernovae, specifically type Ia as use as standard candles.
