answer the phone when it rings
weve been having a strange calls lately

i usually let it ring off if im not in the mood to talk

That's what voice mail is for. Screen those calls!
People you know or someone you do business with will almost always leave a message. The ones who don't are probably telemarketers or worse.
Threre's no law that says you've got to grab up that phone when it rings.
Having caller ID wouldn't hurt, either.

I love caller I.D. If I don't know the number or if it's private, I don't answer it. If it's someone I know they'll leave a message or call me on my mobile. Although sometimes I get into a bit of a stand off with my flat mate and we don't even get up to check who it is, we just wait for the other one to answer it.

If it's my mobile, then yes.
If it's the land line then no unless i'm expecting a call.
Some people who call just talk for ages so my family don't really pick up the phone. Except for my mum, she's like a talkaolic. My dad doesn't have anymore space for messages on his phone. So, really no one likes picking up the phone.

No, it wasn't me but I do know who it was.
I don't always answer the phone when it rings. If I am in the middle of cooking or about to go out I leave it.

I look at my caller ID display now before answering it and then decide whether to answer it or not. Nope it was not me. I got a call during the week when I answered it no one was there, so I rang them back and no one answered. Must have been a ghost. lol

No...I always check the caller-Id on my mobile before I answer and if I'm at home I let the call go straight to the answer-phone on my land-line...

I rarely answer the phone. I have a good 50+ messages on my answer machine.

If the caller display doesn't show a number that I recognise , I never answer it,, Friend's and family call the mobile..

No, I hardly ever answer the phone....I do make a lot of random calls, so maybe.
