First, all the worldclass players are not in USA, they are in far far place Europe, and in USA there are so many other super players in USA, like NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB. There are not much of population in USA who can love more than these sports.

Soccer is popular in the US - when I coached a kid's team last season, I saw that all the soccer fields in the area were full every weekend with all ages playing, It's not popular as a professional sport, sure, but as an amateur sport it's more popular than almost any other.

Sorry, you're wrong. It will never be as popular in the US as other sports for a number of reasons, none of which has to do with TV (it gets enough TV time on networks like ESPN, ABC, etc, but its ratings are low).
1) We have more sports than most other nations, and most of our best athletes go to baseball, football, or basketball.
2) It's non-contact.
3) It's low scoring.
4) In terms of strategy, it doesn't compare with football or baseball.

and also the thought of a match ending in a 0-0 draw is anathema to the Yanks.
I wonder how they'd get on with cricket?
