1st, no man has a right to answer this questions, only women.

If you get rid of religious ideology the answer is a personal one. I and no one should be allowed to dictate to a women what she should do. It is her body, her life, her FETUS. A fetus is not a human being. Did you know up to a month in womb we still have TAILS? We as a fetus look exactly like every other fetus of every other animal on earth. We kill out of womb people with war, crime, and religious ideals. We fight the GOOD fight, right? Come on, why would you want to screw up 2 lives instead of none?

The questions is when is it enough time to decide? How far along is to long? And don't give me the crap of "well if you kill the fetus, its the same thing as killing a 3rd term baby" that's a cope out.

But my opinion should not matter for, I am a man

Abortions is sometimes the lesser of two bad alternatives, and I don't think anyone is more qualified than the woman to make the choice, I can understand the point of view of people who want to ban all abortions because they think it is the same as killing a newborn infant, but I do not view it that way so we can never agree. However people who think they have the right to lay down rules about if a woman can or cannot have an abortion are just control freaks who want to substitute their judgment for the woman's, and are not upholding any deeply felt belief. I would not kill a newborn infant because the father was a rapist.

I think rape victims should always have the right to get an abortion, but otherwise I'm not sure. I think this is an issue that I as a man don't have a right to feel too strongly about, however. I can't say how I would feel if a girlfriend of mine ever had an abortion, of course.

First and foremost, victims of sexual abuse should be afforded the opportunity to have an abortion. Those who didn't ask to be pregnant in the first place should NEVER have to have a baby. More controversially (and bring on the thumbs downs), i think that in a society where there are so many neglected children, and people who are unable (or unwilling) to care for children, abortion makes sense. It's a sin to have them before marriage anyway according to the right wing.

Because I think the authority of government to dictate personal behavior should be used only when necessary. Otherwise it is being abused and loses legitimacy.

So I say the murder of actual adults and children already born rates governmental intervention, the scraping off and flushing down of an embryo or fetus does not.

You can debate all day about where the line should be drawn, but it has to be drawn somewhere.

It's a political debate, not a scientific one.
