Can someone please suggest me the best home made (natural ingredients based) bike washing solution that would not harm my bike or its color/shine & clean it too. I got a candy red Honda Uni and I am afraid that it may loose its shine and fade red color after some time(months/years). If there is not many options then, please suggest me a good bike washing solution available in the market (in India).
Also, is there any solution / coating available (in India) that would avoid scratches and increase paint life.
Thanks in advance.

Any mild laundry detergent.
Make sure you completely dry it after rinsing with water.
Grease all moving parts.
Give the colored surfaces a good wax job to prevent discoloration.

DON'T USE DOMESTIC WASHING PRODUCTS THEY CONTAIN SALT!!!
Salt will soften the water but will rapidly corrode any alloy parts.
A cheap and effective de greaser and polish is good old fashioned parafin.
1/2 cup per gallon bucket of water. use soft brush to loosen dirt and rince well, buff wet bike with a moist rung out chamois leather to remove water droplets. Canauba is a fine polish and is used in most car finishes

I usually just squirt some dishwashing liquid into a bucket of water. Cuts grease pretty well, rinses of easily, and just think your bike will have a lemony fresh scent.
