The Viking have lost their minds--I e-mailed the organization and ESPN see below
To The Vikings Organization;
My guess is that this e-mail will never be read, it will simply be ignored with the thousands of other e-mails that you received regarding Troy, but I am so upset by this I could no longer sit here without voicing my opinion.
I am forever amazed with the going ons in this world. With war, crime out of control, the economy in horrible shape, and gasoline heading towards $4 a gallon, it takes a lot to shock me. But yesterday morning you succeeded. 1st let me say my fiancee and I were huge fans until 24 hours ago. While getting ready for work and listening to the morning news, I listened in shock as the sports reporter went on to say how the Vikings fined Troy Williamson because he missed a game to attend his grandmothers funeral.

Everyday we hear about what a horrible influence NFL players are, we hear about their illegal activities and steroid/drug violations. We hear about dog fighting, fighting at clubs etc. But here we have a man who is mourning the loss of his grandmother and going home to be with his family and attend her funeral. Did he get mentioned for the type of family man he is? No. Not only did he not get a positive mention he was fined substantially!! This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard!! The money is not the object, it is the actions of a n organization which is obviously cold with no feelings for the employees.
It is more evident then ever that NFL players are nothing more then shares in the stock market. I know tons of people who would want nothing to do with such a harsh employer. Your organization has disappointed tons of fans and even non fans. I my job includes quality control, but in your situation I think you may be way beyond quality control.
