I am really sorry to hear of the loss of your mothers son. I lost my son as well.
It does not ever heal, but it does become easier...Hugs to your mom.

I believe that love is the most powerful of all emotions. I also believe you are right when you say the pain is still there, but, it becomes easier in time but it NEVER goes away !
The greatest love I know is that of Jesus. "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
John 15:13

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling (1 Peter 4:8-9).”
God made sure that we knew about the love, many verses in scripture tell us so.

well, it depends. i don't think love can heal physical wounds... but if your heart has been broken before and you need someone to comfort you, I'd say falling in love would definitely heal your emotional wounds...

just quoting from something i... love:

"The word love is poorly understood. When I say the word love I speak not of the emotion. All emotions are things, created things.

The love I speak of is God's love. It is a force that burns away all that is unreal. It dissolves all impurities. Love seeks out impurity to burn it away. There is no such thing as a loveless person.

Only those who have hardened their hearts until they can no longer feel the love that is all around them. They became blind to it as a blind man can no longer see the light that is all about him. Being invisible and ever present, love is more than an emotion, more than a feeling. It is more than pleasure, more than ecstasy. It is the natural state of God. The ultimate power in the universe.

Love is in the air we breathe, it is in the circulation in every cell of our being.

Love permeates everything and everyone. When we say we love something or someone we are really just allowing ourselves to feel that which is always there.

To love the universe and everything in it is the ultimate power. It is to live with unshakable peace.

Love is not something we just feel. It is something that we are. To fall in love with someone or something is to actually feel the love that was always there, but we chose not to see it. Just as we label trees, clouds, so too do we label people.

If we ever really stopped and looked at the people next to us and could truly see them for what they are, we could not help but love them.

For what they are is an expression of God!

All love of mortals is transitory. It comes and goes from one object or person to the next. It can quickly turn to hate if things don't meet our expectations.

But real love cannot change. It has nothing to do with the object, nor can it become another emotion, for it is not really an emotion to begin with.

It is a state of being. That being is the unending God force's natural state, which we only catch glimpses of by our own choice. To perceive this love one needs to set aside the ego. Set aside all fears, habits, selfishness and anger.

We must empty ourselves so that we can allow the universe to fill us with its love.

It is the mind that can transform our perspective from our current one of selfish love to the eternal one of selfless love.

We must re-educate ourselves so that we can attain this new viewpoint. That love is ever present and everywhere. It exists in everyone and everything.

That love is the natural state. All else is illusion.

I'm referring to something almost the opposite of what most people call love. Not to the highly personal feeling. But to the universal force.

Mortals think of love as an attachment. To possess another person or be possessed by them. This is a fantasy. To the Wise, true love is to feel no attachment, no possession to anyone or anything. To belong to all simultaneously and have all belong to you.

Personal love you feel for another person is a concentrated form of universal love. Universal love is an expanded form of personal love.

Love is really the power of God drawing everything towards him. It is an unstoppable force."

It's weird how, with just a little love, we feel wonderful. Love does wonders. It is a small piece of the divine things on earth.
