I believe the max lenght of a catnic lintel is 3.7LM, You will need to obtain calculations of the load that will be putting on the support you are using, maybe a catnic is insufficient and that a rolled steel joist (RSJ) would be required. get the calculations from a qualified engineer in construction.

around 4 meters I think but I'm not 100% sure, their are over a hundred different types, seek advice from a structural engineer if your not sure might cost a bit but better safe than sorry
The bottler
Why have you written "willows song", it’s a great tune but not relevant to the question I think
edit, mystic has the correct answer, 4.8 is the standard but you can have a 6m if you want for Extreme Loading Conditions, check this link out it will help you out

Take a fifth the lenth, then multiply by 4 and 1 together.
Seriously, too much heavy head:
Heigh ho ! Who is there ?
No one but me, my dear.
Please come say, How do ?
The things I'll give to you.
By stroke as gentle as a feather
I'll catch a rainbow from the sky
And tie the ends together.
Heigh ho ! I am here
Am I not young and fair ?
Please come say, How do ?
The things I'll show to you.
Would you have a wond'rous sight
The midday sun at midnight ?
Fair maid, white and red,
Comb you smooth and stroke your head
How a maid can milk a bull !
And every stroke a bucketful.
