The Element Lx is the basic entry level vehicle, the EX has more standard features, whereas the SC is the sportier version (my fav).

The differences between the Civic trims are mostly what comes available with each. The DX is the most basic, with no power windows, etc. The engines & transmissions available in each also differ with the trim. CX - D16Y7 w/ 5-sp. m/t or 4-sp. a/t (longer gears than DX, EX, LX & Si) DX - D16Y7 w/ 5-sp. m/t or 4-sp. a/t EX - D16Y8 w/ 5-sp. m/t or 4-sp. a/t HX - D16Y5 w/ 5-sp m/t or CVT w/ D (normal), S (sports), L (low) LX - D16Y7 w/ 5-sp. m/t or 4-sp. a/t

they all have diffrent options ...LX is entry level ,EX is usually loaded and SC means sport coupe
