it means fantasy in sanskrit. however many of u may be pronouncing it wrng or i may have spelt it wrong....

Erm - I don't think you pronounce it -por-na. This is actually quite a common name in India and it's always pronounced Kul - pa - na. For those of you saying it's odd and weird there's probably more people in this world with that name than you realise. And it's a girl's name

Will you ever be able to buy anything personalised if you pick something like this? Don't always pick what you like, think of how an adult would feel or a teenager when inflicted with a really weird parental choice. At least if you pick something slightly more conventional, the poor kid would stand a chance of being treated normally.
I was named after a french actress, my poor hubby has an appalling name and I tried to be kind to my kids.

Some parents nowadays just don't think before sticking a label, that last or life,on there poor children who really get it in the neck when they start school.I do know about this because my thick cousin called his son "Lake" ? i ask you.

depends if your child will like to be bullyed, and spend the rest of there life having there name pronaunced wrong and having to explain the way to say there name to everyone they meet.

lol I read that name and the first thing that came to mind was something used during surgery lol..
"hand me the scalpel... now the kolpona... " lol could you imagine!
I dunno if its actually a surgical thing! just the name made me think it!
If you like it - maybe use as a middle name.
