I have subscribed to a podcast which takes place daily. iTunes downloads it automatically and I have set it so that iTunes keeps only the 5 recent episodes. Does this mean that when iTunes syncs my ipod automatically, it will remove all podcasts that are older than the 5 most recent episodes?

Yes, it will automatically remove the podcasts that are older than the 5 most recent. If you don't want it to do that, just make sure you check manually manage the podcasts.

it is possible that this would happen, but it might not. if you are unsure, and want to keep the old ones, then check the 'manually manage songs and videos' option in itunes
