I have 1/2 a bag of bonding mortar and would like to use it lay out tile. the Tile is not for my floor or walls. It is a HD cutting board I made

no this does not contain the proper adhesives and will break down quickly

With all due respect I think you should know what the purposes are for WHAT you have first.

CAN I? is a question I answer here often, with "Certainly" I usually add to that, "Will you be satisfied?"

You probably will achieve a level of success; given what you are creating.

I've installed thousands of sq. ft. of tile, and despite many answers to the contrary; I'd use Mortar designed for tile; most especially on floors, but you aren't doing a floor.

I've also "remediated" as many sq. ft. of tile, installed using other substances with little success.

I think the bonding mortar is to bond concrete to concrete. I would use what the manufacturer recommends.
