They don't take an oath to get into office. They take an oath when they enter the office to which they were appointed or elected. The oath pledges them to preserve and protect the Constitution. A document which less than one in five of their fellow citizens has ever read.

To protect and uphold the constitution.

I'm surprised there wasn't an outcry when Bush said the constitution was nothing more than a god damn piece of paper. I presume many Americans agreed with him or did not care due to the fact that there was neither an outcry over this presidential comment, but there had been hardly any outcry during the approval of unconstitutional laws that potentially exploit us.

I guess principle and integrity is nearly obsolete in America. Its kind of odd since those two things are what made America, America.

Do you solemnly swear to line your own pocket, while leaving the American borders unprotected, along with entering into trade pacts that send American jobs overseas, also helping and handing out money and benefits to everyone else in the world, except a legally born and legally residing American in their own country, with a promise to help the richest of the world become richer, while destroying the American "Middle Class" at the expense of America's poor children and elderly who are unable to fend for themselves, so help you God?
