God, There are so many! I would have to say a few of them. Hendrix, Jimmy Page, (Zeppelin), Clapton, and I'd put Stevie Ray Vaughn in that group as well. Guess those are amongst the best of the rock era. 1st. Sgt., 7th Special Forces, (Ret.) Vietnam 67-70

In terms of influence, it's Hendrix. In heavy metal, I think the greatest is Testament's Alex Skolnick. Outside metal, the greatest is Joe Satriani (true art, every song is like a Mona Lisa).
