My daughter wakes us up to rush to the Christmas tree. As I am trying to wake up - I have to grab the camera right away before I miss her opening presents!

I prepare everything for breakfast the night before. We ususally have a fresh fruit platter, muffins and quiche. So when I get up I mix up the quiche and put it in the oven and start the turkey cooking. The quiche has to cook for an hour. While it is cooking we open presents. Then we have breakfast after which we open our stockings. It makes the holiday last longer that way

Make myself a cup of coffee and switch on the oven so it gets to the right temperature for the turkey.
I only eat a cooked breakfast when on holiday in a hotel.
Traditionally we opened presents after the big feast and before the Queen's speech. Father Christmas did his own thing.
The kids have flown the nest and my step family isn't Christian. Times change.

I'm usually the first up... about 4am to put the turkey in the oven and prepare the veg for the day!! once i've done that, I'll make myself a nice cup of tea... by this time (6am!!) my daughter's woken up, so I'll watch her open her stocking presents! I'll then go and wake my husband Phil up, so that I can open some presents!! still get excited about xmas!!

We have a slightly different tradition as we often go away for Christmas. We don't tend to buy loads of pressies as we get something from where we go. So we take a couple of small presents with us. Dependant on where we are, we get up and the first thing we do (after making a nice coffee for my hubbie) is open the small gifts we've bought with us.

Then we get brekkie and go out to explore where we are, hopefully it is snowing so it's even better. A lot of the places we've been seem to be everyone outside on Christmas day, which is fantastic and really makes it special.

We spend half an hour trying to get my sister out of bed, then we send my brother downstairs (while avoiding looking at the tree) to wake up my parents. While he's doing that, we sit on the steps in order of age, youngest at the bottom, oldest at the top. Then we wait for my dad to put on the Christmas music. We open our stockings, then our presents, then, usually, my husband cooks omelets for everyone.

The first thing is open my eyes. :P

After that I wake up my brothers (if the older one is around, I'll wake him up too.) I usually then make muffins/cinnamon rolls. Then we'll get dressed and open our few presents (we actually just get a few in the morning from each other and one from Mom.) Then we sit around and act goofy until time to drive to our Grandmother's (around 11 AM) where we do Christmas with my father's family. Then we drive to his house, where his wife's family (daughters, daughter's husbands, and daughter's children) show up at around 6:00 PM. We eat a large supper, then open presents again.

Honestly,?
1.pee
2.smoke a cigarette and get a drink of soda
3. open gifts
in that order.
I also have to fuss at the kids to get things up out of the floor before the gifts can be opened .and to leave things alone 'til the beds are picked up. (The kids sleep on camping cots, because we live in an efficiency.and there not much room, so a few things Have to get done first.)

We get up, have some breakfast then open gifts in our jammies. (have always done this since I was a kid).

Breakfast is small because since I've been with my hubby we've gone to his parents for a big breakfast together before opening gifts there, then it's off to my family for dinner and more gifts.

our family celebrates x-mas on the 24. on the morning i wak eup and i go to the kitchen to help my mom cook dinner( turkey, goose, mashed potatoes, etc) then when im done, i help set the gifts under the tree. i put up some decorations and i go out( hopefully to the snow). what we do is that on the night of the 24 all my family and aunts, cousins etc. gather aroung in the living room and then we oped our presents. the youngest person closes her eyes and chooses a gift, and then gives it to the coresponding person. then that pesrcon closes his/her eyes, and so on. after the presents we eat dinner. we also put clasical music on.

Each family member opens one Xmas gift and it is usually new Pajamas or new slippers and then we have Breakfast and we don't open the rest of our presents until later that day in the evening. (after dinner)
