I have lived on a farm, have had an incubator under my bed and can tell you that chicks "peep" a day or so before they hatch. Believe me, it was surprising. You can hear them loud and clear! If they can't breathe, they would not be able to cheep or "peep".

it's inside of an enclosed egg... how would the oxygen enter the egg, use your brain... and how would it breathe the same as a human baby if it is disconnected from its mother?
