I have an HP computer that came with 512MB ram preinstalled. I installed and additional 512MB made by crucial. If I replace the 512MB crucial with HP 512MB would the HP work better than the crucial?

I would check the crucial website for compatibility with your system. I'm a HUGE fan of crucial ballistix, 4GB of DDR2, runs like a dream.

No. HP just slaps stickers on other peoples ram. Ram is usually ram if you mean run of the mill stuff, if the specs match (not performance or gaming ram). Even then, you would probably never notice a difference.

The name on the RAM stick is irrelevant, as long as the two modules are compatible.

if what you have is running well, dont change it,,

as long as its compatible w. your system, dont change anything,,,
