it will float around inside your brain for an indefinite amount of time. if you sneeze really hard, it may dislodge though!

I doubt it penetrated or is still in there-you wouldn't be sitting in front of the computer, you'd be on your way to ER. It probably just bounced off or was immediately flushed out by tears, but either way you probably have a small abrasion. If it's bugging you to death, go see the doc and he can prescribe some steroid and antibiotic eyedrops.
If it's not that bad, just wait it out or you can try an antihistimine eyedrop called Zatidor to soothe the inflammation-it's OTC in drugstores, Walmart, etc. DON'T use anti-redness eyedrops like Visine-it will make it worse. Plain wetting drops are OK if you make sure there's no anti-redness stuff in them, but probably won't help much.

You need to flush your eye out running water for at least 1 minute. The if you began to have pain, irritation and redness you need to see an ER doc to check to see if your cornea is scratched. Your gonna probaly need antibiotics to prevent conjuntivitis.

Any foreign body in the eye should be removed by a medical practitioner to prevent scratching the cornea.
