My friend and I went onto this whole debate about whether it was correct to use the term "somewhat decent". He/She said that you can't use somewhat decent because it's either decent or its not, whereas I claim that something can be partially decent, having pros and cons that contributes to it being both decent and having some characteristics that makes it not so decent. So, yeah, it's a stupid question, but I want to see everyone's rationale. Thanks for answering, if you do.

Just a quick note, I shouldn't choose a best answer because my view of the argument is biased, so if you can convince others to vote for your answer, that would be great.

somewhat decent seems to be a normal term to me....your rational is understandable.....also, it is most definitely not an oxymoron.....it is descriptive being that the word somewhat is establishing the level of decency
