Hi!!! I am due in about 4 wks and someone asked me where I was gonna give birth and I told them, Burnaby Hospital. She said she refused to go there 9 yrs ago when she had her daughter, I'm assuming because she has heard some bad things about the facility, but she won't tell me because she doesn't want to scare me. Has anyone heard or experienced anything THAT awful that they would advise against giving birth there? And is there anything I can do about it? My Dr. is based in Burnaby and I believe she ONLY delivers at Burnaby Hospital. Please help!!!

I live in the lower mainland and the only hospital I would be concerned about for delivery is Surrey Memeorial. This woman had a bad experience...that does happen, but it doesn't mean that everyone who has delivered there had the same problems. Talk to your doctor about your concerns (they are used to nearly hysterical and worried expectant moms). Good luck and have a save healthy delivery.

talk to your doctor. see if she does go to a different hospitol if your so worried. also for so dumb reason the only stories people tell pregnant women are horror stories which just make you more worried so either make her tell you exactlly why she said that or ignore her and do want you feel to be right in your heart. it could have been the doctor they got or a grumpy nurse that ruined it for her, so if you trust your doctor everything should be fine.
