i assume you line in a city that prohibits killing the pigeons (they are small, yet stable eats). attempt the spike strips first; it is comparatively affordable and can be useful. I used to stay in a construction that had comparable problems. Our pigeons have been cunning and someway got here across a fashion around the spikes. We finally got here across a answer in a particular device fixed on the roof. It has a timer that we could out a noisy growth and concurrently launches a rubber falcon. The plastic owl in basic terms fools the pigeons for a time, while the rubber falcon strikes, so as that they think of it’s alive. We have been given rid of our pigeons—they moved to the close by college approximately 1000 ft away. So extremely, we in basic terms pushed our situation onto somebody else, we didn’t extremely sparkling up it.

First of all owls do not build nests..they take over the nest of other raptors such as hawks. Secondly, owls are protected by law, harassing them or harming them is illegal. Thirdly..not sure why you would want to get rid of such a bird...they are probably eating lots of rodents on your property. Why not try some earplugs at night so they will not bother you.

It is highly illegal to harm any bird of prey. There are international laws protecting all of these birds. They are top line predators and are essential to a healthy environment. It may be possible to get a permit allowing you to remove the nest but not likely. You should talk to the local Conservation officers.

All native migratory birds in the US are protected by federal law (Migratory Bird Treaty Act). In addition, many owls are protected by additional federal and state laws. It is illegal to kill, harm or harass the owl, and it is illegal to disturb its nest.
You need to report the owl to your state DNR, or to the local office of the US Fish and Wildlife, and discuss alternatives with them. You can find the local office of F&W here: http://www.fws.gov/migratorybirds/contacts.htm

Owls do not like snakes or hawks. See if you can find a realistic looking snake or hawk and put it in the tree on on the roof. It might work for a while. I tried that with birds that used to get into my warehouse. It was so funny for two or three days they were very quiet and we couldn't find one single bird. But soon they realized that Hawk and snake had not moved and were not scared.

Why would you want to get rid of them? They're probably controlling your mouse and rat population.
