I work at a college, we really don't get angry if a student intentionally missed the exam, disappointed is a better word. But at the end of the day you are a adult if you are in college and it is up to you.

No, I wouldn't get angry at all. As your other answer said the student would get a zero. I also wouldn't give that student a chance to make it up. That opportunity was missed. If the parents would complain, then it's their problem too. Best of luck to you.

Why would you be angry? I might be disappointed, but definitely not angry. I don't know if I would immediately give a zero, either. Probably would talk to them and tell them they could take it but with a maximum of 80 percent or something similar.

That's like asking if a football referee gets mad at players that commit fouls. They don't take it personally...they just throw the yellow flag. Just part of the job.
As a teacher, you need to know in advance is what your response will be when students do stupid things...and they will. What happens when a student walks out of class? What happens if a student misses a test? What happens if they swear at you? When it happens, you've already thought it out and you know what to do. It helps you to stay in control because you've given it some thought when you were calm.

no, i wouldnt. If the student wants to miss it, then thats fine with me. I would just give that student a zero and let his or her grade go down.

I might be disappointed in the student, but angry? No, it wouldn't be worth the energy.
