People always walk into a bar and say, "I'd like a beer."? They never say the brand of the beer they want?? I understand copywriting laws or what have you, but they could just make up a brand, like "I'd like a McGramikranties draft, please" or "Gimme a Four Cousins on tap." It would be more believable. Also, they never say goodbye on the phone. They're always like, "What?!? When did it happen? Okay." CLICK. It's rude! In real life, people say "bye". Just wondering if anyone else has noticed these things.

I see what you mean about the beer thing, but you know what? These days I see too much brand promotion/product placement in movies, oh so subtlely and sometimes not so subtle. I guess the first blatant example I remember was in Minority Report when they showed the big Pepsi logo. Now, movies are cashing in by showing Coke, Sony, Dell, Apple, blah blah. While it does make things more realistic, it's obvious the movie's making money too. For some reason, it seems less blatant on TV shows to me; then again, the one I'm thinking of is The Office. And since this show pretends to be a reality show, I guess that's why it doesn't bother me that they mention Chili's and Staples.
I also notice that in movies whenever someone needs a getaway car, there's always one sitting there with the key in the ignition or in the driver's sunvisor.

I have noticed and they never really finish there drink either.
The phone also they never say goodbye. no manners or they just know they are talking to air and nothing more. So it is hard to say goodbye in there line of work because they do not live in reality.

Hm . . . that would not ensue in Blood Diamond or adult men in Black, nor in undergo in techniques the Titans , Shawshank Redemption, The Matrix, The dark Knight, Independence Day . . . i think of what it rather is, is that each time a "helping black guy" does die, politically acceptable watchdogs start up howling.

lol yeah, but that could be considered product placement ;) besides, it distracts too much from the storyline- if there's no reason to mention the type of beer, why should you have to? it isn't real life.. only imitating it
