If by "inequality" you mean, "prefer to allow the actually hard-working American citizens and substantial businesses to keep a greater amount of the money that they have earned and are completely in their rights to be in possession of", the answer is simple: Because it's justified.
There's no fault in it whatsoever. There's no reason as to why the money made by people with jobs should be taken for welfare/social purposes. No one says that the lower-class can't receive help, but that doesn't mean that we must chop the earnings of every employed citizen to accomplish it.

Capitalists don't generally like inequality, its basically equal opportunity, and if there is a Capitalist society where a poor man cannot get ever get as rich as a rich man, then that society is not Capitalist.
A Capitalist society is focused on the individual, while Communism is focused on the group.
Communism uniforms everyone to be equal, and when that happens there is violation of human rights, there is supreme power to the government, and total power to the leader, hence a dictatorship.
In my humanities class this has long been our subject.
Basically Capitalism by itself results in some of the African nations, where everyone is on their own, governments have no power and 12 year olds carry around AK47s.
On the other hand, you have the bad result of Communism which is North Korea,or the Soviet Union at it's fall. There is dictatorship, absolute control, human rights violations and more.
So the U.S. has a balance of both systems, and as do many other nations in the world, the U.S. has Capitalist sentiments such as individualism and Communist values such as the fact that the government controls the produce made by the nation, and controls the majority of schools, colleges and such.
There are also Communist sentiments such as heavy taxes, and tax returns, the president controls the armed forces and there is more government control over all then we think.
In fact after global catastrophies like nuclear war, global warming or inner corruption, its believed that the U.S. military will not be the old friendly troops for the people, but will turn into an anti corruption force that will put people in strict communist values,in all catastrophies,America has used communist sentiments to gain control.
So basically Capitalism doesn't promote inequality, but rather, everyone for themselves, everyone has the potential to do something great, but they are on their own, there is no government control.

Capitalists don't have to like/dislike inequality or even if they do,it can't be generated. It's in the nature of capitalism to generate inequality like a race, where some people would lead, some in between and some trailing behind. Can we blame Race for it?No,as we know that it's in the nature of a race to produce' winners', 'hopeful participants' and 'also ran'.not to mentioned the left outs.In the countries with capitalism in practice,it's the duty of the government to soften it's harsh side effects by providing parallel safe guards for the weaker/disadvantaged sections,so that development continues with a 'Humane -Face '.

"THE YEAR WAS 2081, and everybody was finally equal. They weren’t only equal before God and the law. They were equal every which way. Nobody was smarter than anybody else. Nobody was better looking than anybody else. Nobody was stronger or quicker than anybody else. All this equality was due to the 211th, 212th, and 213th Amendments to the Constitution, and to the unceasing vigilance of agents of the United States Handicapper General..."
"Hazel had a perfectly average intelligence, which meant she couldn’t think about anything except in short bursts. And George, while his intelligence was way above normal, had a little mental handicap radio in his ear. He was required by law to wear it at all times. It was tuned to a government transmitter. Every twenty seconds or so, the transmitter would send out some sharp noise to keep people like George from taking unfair advantage of their brains."

No one in this world is the exact same as anyone else. If we all were we'd be boring. Some are short, tall, fat, thin...Some of us are outgoing, some are introverts, some are artistic, some are analytical. Some of us are dreamers, poets, writers. Some of us build buildings, roads and bridges. Some of us are geniuses and others struggle intellectually. We're all different.
Isn't this natural difference inequality?

The trouble with socialism is that it's the government who decides what is equal and what is not. In order to enforce the practice of equality, you need a government with the power to take things away from one set of people and give them to another. Who then will enforce government to give equally? History has generally shown that all-powerful governments can't be trusted, and anyone with two brain cells can figure out why: government only cares about it's own power. Capitalism may not be perfect but it's much better than the alternative.

Because I believe that people should earn what they get, not expect to be entitled to the fruits of another's labour. That is what capitalism is all about. If you create value, it is yours. And before you brand me as some evil rich capitalist, I grew up poor and earned the higher societal standing I enjoy now. So suck on that.

I suppose you would prefer everyone to be equal? Equally poor that is. When the working class is forced to finacially support those who will not work, you have a welfare state that makes everyone equally poor. MIght i suggest that those who want to equalize everything work as hard as the rest of us do at earning a living, and you will then be equal with us. When you obtain the same educational level, you will be equal, when you contribute as much as you demand, you will be equal. simple isnt it. ???

How can you be using a computer and posting questions on the internet when there are people out there that can't afford a computer?
You don't care about those with less than you.
