You made one mistake. Coming from another married man, when you get married, the filter between the brain and the mouth shuts down in the woman. She ceases to realize that people occasionally make jokes, and that nagging gets them no where besides pissing everyone off. So be prepared for some rediculous arguments, but be sure to try and take them light-heartedly otherwise you are in for a long marriage

There has to be more to it. Sounds like maybe she is depressed is she can't take a joke. Did she recently have a baby? She may have some post-partum depression going on. Just be aware of any other changes and get her some help if she needs it. This could be very serious.

You probably told a joke at a time when she was in an unltr serious mood. Tell her you weren't serious and htat you'd neevr think of putting her through that. And watch your humor- you may not be the charming witty slob you think you are.

NO but she sounds like my boyfriend. lol. He's all mad see he has been attached by the hip to a computer since I met him. 3 yrs Now I am and he wants to smaash it to bits. I got no clue what he went on and on about tonight. WE have no kids. He is enough of a child for any one person to handle. Plus I have a 80 lb kitty cat who is impersonating herself as a Lab dog retriever. It's true. Best of luck to you.

This advice was given to my husband just before we married:
1) Let her think that she is getting everything her way.
2) Give her everything her way.
On a more serious note, unless she wants to bring it up again, just ignore it, forget it. Unfortunately, us women can tend to spout off a little more than is warranted (don't you dare tell my hubby I said that!). Give her a chance to let it go.
OH! and, give up on the family cricket team jokes!!!!

Buddy, just give her time to cool off and be extra nice to her for a while. We hate to admit it, but we go through mood swings we just can't control, and usually don't realize until they're over. Be patient and kind, and know next time that particular joke isn't funny to her.

My husband gets yelled at--at least two or three times a day. But he has a talent for saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. I am beginining to think he just like pissing me off.

It appears that the real cause of her outburst is something different from the simple joke. You have to think out the real reason that is eating her.
