I tried to sell novelty stuff for this company by walking down the street and stopping strangers. I wouldn't buy that junk if I had money to spare so I had a hard time trying to sell it to others

I understand your predicament. Any job that involves the ultimate "cold sell" is tough. You have a "leg-up" though, because you know no one is going to buy your wares. Just smile, be yourself, and try to imagine the worst of worst jobs.

My worst job was greasing axles on an assembly line. I was covered in grease (from head to toes) and didn't have one person who could identify (even on the line.) It was heavy, sweaty, and dangerous because I had to dip underneath the line (axle) and get my fingers into the fittings. Imagine a handful of petroleum jelly and smearing it inside a steel cavity. And, it was repetitive...like 500 times in a single shift.

There are lots of bad jobs, especially when you have to face rejection. Just face it that you will be rejected, pretend that you are in a movie (as an actor) and move on throughout your day. Bad jobs build character. :-)

This is a difficult job since you say you wouldn't even buy it yourself. You seem to be ambitious but try selling something that people perceive that they need.
