sorry, i know this is a bad question, but i think i get hornier around that time of the month. i think your hormones go crazy and your body is trying to tell you to have sex before the eggs die. is this just me or does this happen to other girls?

According to researchers (this is what my doctor told me years ago, so I can't corroborate it), there are two peaks in a woman's cycle for wanting sex: the strongest one is at ovulation, the second peak is right before menses (day before through first day or so).
I think this could be because orgasms are good for the menses, but that's just my theory.

Actually the eggs don't "die" and you don't release an egg (one egg) until 1 and half to 2 weeks AFTER your period. That's the time when I get most horny. That's also the time when you can get pregnant. But of course the time varies with every girl due to stress, if you were sick, ect ect.

Yes my wife usually get more hornier than ever when she is about to have menstruation. I can tell when she will have menstruation by observing her activities at night. But it may be different to other woman. May be she feels safe at that time and subconsciously more interested and free from getting pregnant.

it happens because the first or second day of your period your estrogen level spikes, and stay high until you ovulate, then they gradually get lower and lower until your next period. That's why girls are so crabby right before their period and often have a huge sense of relief once their period finally starts... because they get their estrogen fix lol. of course everyone is different but that's how it generally works

No, my time is right in mid cycle...as I get closer to the 14th day, I feel like I'm in heat. I imagine it's your body's natural clock telling you when you're fertile.

I am too much in pain to be horny. Sex during my period is also uncomfortable.

i totally agree with you. i feel the most horny during my period too. it might be a pyschological thing where you know you cant do and because you know you cant you want it more.
