I sure do! Just wondering what has happened to all the kinfolk? We surely enjoy them and hate that somone might not be so friendly. Don't you agree?

Kinfolk. You know we love you all. But, SOMEONE was not happy when you came to see us. Sorry.

Gracie, I love unexpected company, as long as it's the friendly type, such as our hill relatives. The type that live under the bridge can just drown in the crick as far as I care.
I saw only one relative's question, and I couldn't answer it, 'cause I don't know how to make a dog sit up. Where are all the others?

Love the kinfolk dropping in here.
In real time though I prefer not to have drop ins. My hubbys foster mother always comes over when I'm sitting in the floor playing with the kids. The house is a wreck, the front porch and steps need sweeping, sippy cups are everywhere with cookie crumbs...we are having a blast and dear Oma says a German Grandmother would never allow the kinders to make such a mess. Needless to say her home is always spotless. She even washes the street in front of her house and reports neighbors who put the trash out before 6 p.m. She is such a good citizen and cannot understand everyone not living by the rules to the nth degree. I'm just an ole hippy chick who schleps around in dream world.

I don't usually get that anymore. Unless it's the manager drop-
ping by to pick up the rent check LOL. The friends I have now
have busy schedules and they don't live near me so that's
pretty good insurance for them not dropping by. So other than
the manager, our daughter might drop by without calling, when she's in town that is. But it's usually when she's on her
way somewhere and may want to talk to us, if I'm on the
computer :). She has the cell phone number however.
I do prefer a couple hours notice if I have the chance. As I
have gotten too lax in picking up after our dogs and their
bones and blankets. Then there's hubby's clutter. So I can
only run in one direction at a time. And usually it's to fix
myself up a bit if it's in the morning and I need to hurry to get
my shower. Then I am telling hubby to hurry and pick up LOL.
Oh you should see the scramble now that we're older. I used
to be such a neat nick. I'd clean even if nothing needed to be
cleaned. Three times a week even. I was nutso on having a
shiney surface on anything meant to shine. My mom sure
instilled in me, some neurotic ways LOL. Now that all of the
elders are gone, I can relax and forget about the polished
furniture. I can't get around to do it anyway. So if something
is cluttered they will just have to overlook it. As one friend
said, "I'm here to see you ,not see what a good housekeeper
you are". So only a good friend can say that and mean it. :)

I enjoy having unexpected company to the hilt. I don't enjoy it when some folks are so rude to run them off. If they don't like the company, they can go some where else until the company is gone. I had left for just a little while to take care of some business when they came here. I almost missed them in more ways than one. When I got back and started visiting, they started disappearing like crazy. I didn't even get finished visiting and they were gone. Sure hope they come back soon and maybe get to stay longer the next time. Y'all come back now ya hear.

I think , that in every category, regardless of whether it is Senior's or Physics, or Religion & Spirituality, there are some people who do not like other people enjoying life. It is an odd and discomforting thought. Perhaps, the Seniors could do a raid themselves. Over in Religion and Spirituality, I happen to know for a fact that that is where quite a few hill folk dwell.

No. I guess I get too much of it because I live a block off a busy street. Plus, there is a car wash a block in the other direction that gives people a view to my house. So, whenever I am outside, at least one person stops by that saw me outside, so it is hard to get things done.

In my parents' era they didn't mind people unexpectedly visiting , athough mum wasn't too thrilled about the coffee clatches in the morning when she wanted to get her housework done.
However unexpected guests were usually fun and sometimes entertaining.
Nowadays people don't socialize like they used to. We live too busy lives, we're on the computer ,the cell phone, the blackberry and it's always rush , rush , rush.
We don't even take time to get to know our neighbours, although in my neighbourhood , I'd rather not know them.

Sometimes I enjoy unexpected company. There are other days when I wish I hadn't answered the door! My grandparents used to love to surprise us with a visit. Now they were people I loved to find on my doorstep. They were wonderful grandparents.

Depends on who it is. If it's friends or family, they usually call first anyway. If it's a neighbor to tell us something or borrow something or an emergency, fine. If it's religious solicitors or somebody selling something, never.
I wouldn't mind family living close enough to family for them to come over. They are all in other parts of the country, so
that isn't possible.
