before getting handed the ball . Are the number of pitches thrown in the bull pen counted as a statistic in determining the usage of that reliever in a season of baseball ?

Spelling out the analogy : I know what a relay race is. 2. Before they get the baton, they have to start running. Therefore, I have drawn the analogy of the runner starting to run before he receives the baton with the pitcher warming up in the bull pen before you takes the mound. The extra statistics are not talked about on the television, but I was wondering if they kept them on record. Two innings or more of warming in the pen can add up to a significant amount of pitches.
