A hostile witness should be treated as criminal and a hindrance to justice. Same should be the treatment for people filling false affidavits in courts. It should be made mandatory, without exception that if an affidavit is found furnishing false information the court hearing the case must forward it for a registration of a criminal complaint and direct agencies to prosecute the offender. Court must also fix a time frame for investigating agency to report back for prosecution of the false affidavit offender.

Yes in criminal matters perjury is a crime but in civil matters it depends on the court.

What got in your craw?
A hostile witness is not a criminal, just not cooperative. And that's ok.
Perjury is another problem, and we have laws for that already.

First of all you must understand truth is relative for the whole affidavit spiel. From one perspective something may have happened a certain way, but it may not be the absolute actual truth. It isn't necessarily lying to provide poor information for that fact. If it was done purposely that should be considered perjury, but intent must be demonstrated.

It is already against the law in the US to commit perjury or to hinder prosecution.

We have our hands, and our jails, full. Resources are limited. If you have real evidence that false testimony has been given, turn it over to the DAs office or send it to the judge in the case.

But don't expect anyone to create a task force for this.
