Lots of things can cause it. Smoking, lifting heavy objects. working too hard, some over the counter medications like aspirin. Too much stress, drinking alcohol, taking drugs. vehicle accident, a big scare.. So many things can do it...

There are so many things that can cause premature birth it would take all day to outline them all. So here are a few:
Smoking, drinking, stress, low amniotic fluid, high blood pressure, sickness, accidents/ trauma, too much exercise...etc.
