I am 18 years old and I've been home schooled up to grade 8. Last year I enrolled into ILC schooling to get my grade 9-12 but when I contacted the teacher last week she said my scores were so good that I would be wasting my time to spend the next 2-3 years getting my grade 12 so she said I should study for the GED test and take that when I'm ready. If I study the newest book should I be able to pass??? Please give help or advice!! I'm really nervous. Math is the hardest thing I think...

Your homeschooling may have given you the equivalent of a high school education. Many of the curriculums used by homeschoolers are more advanced than those of public school students, so you may be fine. A good way to truly know if you are prepared is to contact the nearest community college and ask if they offer the Compass test. It will test reading, writing, and math in a multiple choice environment. More than likely it will be less than $10 to take it. You will get your scores immediately because it is computer administered and scored. This test is designed to tell placement counsellor's what level classes you may enter college at (remedial, normal freshman, or advanced). If you do well on this test, go ahead and register for the ACT or SAT test. Homeschoolers get in to college based largely on how well they do on these tests. If you did not do well on the Compass in an area, that will let you know what you need to study before taking the SAT.

a similar homework considering the fact that 6th grade and you're actually sixteen years old. Does that mean which you have not carried out it yet? Why do you like to bypass to school in case you hate college lots? You look greater effective than slightly perplexed. talk to you mother and father and see you college counselor for some help to get your self straightened out. guard problems now till now the worsen. A GED degree isn't a thank you to bypass. a commonplace intense college degree is the way. you've gotten subject doing the artwork in a school in case you in result "pass" 2 years of high school and don't get the history which you want.

Put GED Sample test in your search engine and you can take a sample test to see how you would do during a real test and then you need only study what you need to pass and not what you already know. Teachers need bodies in their class rooms in order to make money for the school so the fact that she told you to just take the GED is a good sign that you can handle it. Good Luck to you!!

For many reasons the GED diploma is very inferior to a regular high school diploma. Together you and your parents must decide if you want to take the shorter course of action or the better one. Also consider that many who take the GED examination fail it.

a G.E.D is a secondary diploma as opposed to an actual high-school diploma.
if you can get your high-school diploma and take your s.a.t. exams your going too have a much better time of getting into a college or institute if you stick it out, although a high school diploma is not absolutely necessary it just looks better in the record books!!!

Your teacher told you to get a GED?! How wrong and irresponsible! Get your diploma!
