search for dvd decrypter (free)
download, and start ripping movies
then get a player (i use IFOedit)... great programs :)

Your DVD is probably copy-protected and encrypted, which is the case for most commercial DVDs. Programs like Nero or Roxio won't be able to copy your DVD (I've tried, and I think they're too worried about copy-protection law suits in the United States).

I found however that Xilisoft DVD Converter works well on both Windows and Macs for ripping copy-protected DVDs into video format or for making a backup of your DVD.

One nice feature about Xilisoft is that it also lets you take still shots at any point during the movie. You just click a button and it saves a photo of the current frame, making it easy to capture your favorite celebs at just the right moment.

just open the DVD folder on my computer and copy the video_ts file to the hard disk of ur choice. u can open it any time u want with a dvd player software like power DVD,VLC player(my personal fav) and many many more. i recommend VLC player though coz the volume control is better than that of power DVD
