Mining and petroleum is thew source of his inheritance. His family was into Southern Democrat anti-black politics also.
His father fought the Equal Rights Amendment as hard as anyone in Congress.

He has a company that sells carbon credits. If a company is polluting then they can by a carbon credit that lets them off the hook. Very similar to the old papal indulgences the Catholic Church used to sell. If you sinned, but paid the priests off, you could continue to sin guilt free.
I am sure that he got a lot of money from his propaganda piece.
