I don't think men are looking at the risks of having unprotected sex, I think they are just looking to get lucky. The risk of it will be handled later according to many boys or men who later are left shaking their heads thinking WHAT DID I DO. . How about women have some RESPECT FOR THEMSELVES and make sure the hormone driven male does not give them an STD or get them pregnant. I think the obligation of protection GOES BOTH WAYS. So, I ask you questioner, WHY ARE SO MANY WOMEN WILLING TO HAVE UNPROTECTED SEX AS WELL?? We live in a society of std's, unwanted pregnancies, so shouldn't the women be just as responsible to take care of their bodies just as well as the men??

1. Men usually don't get tagged for taking care of any kids they make. They don't have to go through pregnancy, labor, or raising the kid if they don't stay with the mom or can give her enough grief to make her not pursue support.

2. Most do not believe that they can ever get sick if the girl has some kind of disease. There is a lot of misinformation out there, a lot of folk tales about weird ways infections can be avoided. Those guys believe a lot of these things foolishly. One of them I've heard a lot is, "She doesn't look sick. I checked." Meaning that they took a look at her body and because she didn't have any warts, bumps, rashes or weird smells, they figured she couldn't have a disease and that they were safe. Of course most people know this isn't true, but enough out there believe it to spread the rumor

3. Men don't want a decrease in sensation. Some men aren't very sensitive and others don't want to take the extra time to get aroused like would be necessary if they wore a condom. Thus, they won't wear it because they want a quick intense orgasm instead of working harder but safer for one.

Those are just my opinions on their reasons. I'm not a guy, so I can't know for sure except about the parts I've heard over the years.

There are too many reasons to list. Most stem from juvenile jokes, taunts, and urban legends. I wouldn't doubt that there are a strong minority of men who will not wear one because it will expose their size deficiency. You would not believe how many men think a condom has to unroll completely and fit tighter than OJs gloves. When they can't fill it out especially that first time one is put on, there is a deep level of embarrassment or inadequacy. Also there are a few who constantly talk crap to other guys that they can pull out and are too skilled to ever need one. Its becomes some juvenile crap that the other guy isn't man enough almost on a level where the guy who wears the condom is like a 5 year old who still wears a diaper. The biggest laugher are the ones who complain about sensitivity loss yet they can't go more than a minute. Um like hello wouldn't you want a little sensitivity loss so you can go longer for your partner.

In all honesty - the answer I got the most was "it just doesn't feel the same". And when they are in the "throws of passion" - like anyone - they are not thinking of the consequences - to which there are MANY. The biggest one is pregnancy. And in this day and age of "self indulgence" and "instant gratification" - there are a lot of men who simply just don't care. And if we women ALLOW them to get away with not caring, then we are just as responsible for the consequences as they are. Sometimes it can be difficult to ask a guy to put the "raincoat" on - but what would be easier? Being potentially embarassed for a few seconds, or getting pregnant and having to face 3 choices - abortion, adoption, or keeping it and raising it on your own? We ALL have a responsibility to have SAFE SEX. To protect our health, and to prevent bringing children into this world before we are truly ready. I know I kind of got off the subject - which in the end is simply - the guys you are inquiring about are guys that don't think ahead, and a lot of them (unfortunately) are just looking for sex and don't care at ALL how they get it.

A lot of guy's really are just not thinking in the heat of the moment, and some think it feels better without the condom. The problem is you can't look at someone and tell if they're healthy. So fellas cover up and ladies make sure they cover up!

Only some guys do this, im a guy and ill use protection unless im intending on having kids, a condom does make it uncomfortable and the orgasm isnt as good, we also like the feel of direct contact of our cock and pussy. No guys are not what most of the "women" have said. Condoms just are not comfortable.

Because they're selfish and irresponsible.

Selfish, because they let their own enjoyment take precendence over their partners' health or chance of pregnancy. (Hint: it's not his belly that swells.) Irresponsible because it ignores his own health risks, too. Contraception can change the feeling of sex, somewhat, but the change in sensation is small compared to the value of taking care of himself and his partner.

The same reason some women let them. They are ignorant when it comes to STDs and irresponsible when it comes to babies. Both lack respect for themselves if they engage in this type of behavior.
